Sailing Information

Our location: Shadwell Outdoor Activity Centre, Shadwell Pierhead, Glamis Road, E1W 3TD

Tuesday evenings (from April 1st) are open to non-members. We meet at 6pm by the muster point on the Pierhead (situated by the railings over looking the Thames).

Our river fleet consists of seven Wayfarer Dinghies and a Drascombe Longboat. We can also launch up to twelve Laser Pico single handers. The Wayfarers are the best cruiser/racer dinghies available for tidal river sailing, being very stable and capable of a good turn of speed, when handled well.

Non-member prices:

18-24 years of age - £10

24-64 years of age - £20

Over 64 years of age - £10

Only Tuesday evening sailing is available to non-members. You are however welcome to join the club at anytime. The current annual membership fee is £120 (£60 for 18-24 and 65+).

Our activities are closely linked with Shadwell Outdoor Activity Centre, who provide RYA sailing and powerboat courses and we actively encourage all those interested in sailing or powerboating to enroll for any of the courses Shadwell OAC offer. Here is the best location to learn to sail, starting with the protected waters of Shadwell Basin

and then moving onto the river itself. Visit Shadwell OACwebsite for more details.
